About Us

The Australian Karate Academy (AKA) has been offering quality karate instruction and training in Brisbane since 1989. Located in Coorparoo, Qld, the Academy has produced hundreds of Black Belts and students who have gone on to become state, national and international karate champions.

The AKA is a private school owned and operated by The McMahon Family Group. The Academy also has an experienced team of teachers, including both Bob and Cheyne McMahon (6th and 4th Dan), Amy Triggs (4th Dan), Brendan Triggs (3rd Dan), and Ashley Lovi (2nd Dan). The Academy offers a large number of different classes for beginners, intermediate and advanced students at their full-time dojo (centre).
